For this edition of Clintel on Tour, we are organizing an evening together with Energie Alternatief Drenthe about the impact of climate policy and the energy transition. Marcel Crok, investigative journalist and co-founder of Clintel, gives a lecture on this theme, which is of great concern to residents in Drenthe.
Energy Alternative Drenthe consists of concerned Drenthe residents who want to prevent the installation of wind turbines in Drenthe and advocate including gas and nuclear power as green and sustainable alternatives in the energy transition. The aim is to broadly inform residents about climate change and the energy transition with facts and objective data.

Over Marcel Crok
Investigative journalist Marcel Crok closely follows the climate debate. A critical article about a controversial climate graph won him the Glass Griffioen in 2005, an incentive prize for science journalists. In his 2011 book 'The State of the Climate', Crok examined the role of CO2 in recent global warming and how thorough reports from the IPCC - the United Nations climate panel - are, which have kept people fearing worldwide for years. In 2019, Marcel Crok, together with emeritus professor Guus Berkhout (TU Delft), founded the Climate Intelligence Foundation (Clintel), a think tank and watchdog that shares honest and objective information about climate change and climate policy. Clintel drafted the World Climate Declaration with the message: 'There is no climate crisis', supported by more than 1900 researchers and experts worldwide and translated into many languages. In 2023, Crok published the book 'The Frozen Climate Views of the IPCC' together with the American Andy May and researchers from the Clintel network. In the book they criticize the sixth IPCC report.
